Earth Day 2021

Each year on 22 April, people around the world come together to celebrate our planet and drive attention and action on the climate crisis and our serious environmental issues globally. This year the Earth Day theme is #RestoreOurEarth and has a special focus on emerging green tech, climate restoration tech, and reforestation, alongside citizen science and cleanups.

The surf community in SecondLife always celebrates Earth Day, but this year there’s a problem… a big, big litter problem at Cohiba Lake. The lakeside island chill-out spot has been overrun with single-use paper, plastic and metal and we need your help!

Ash Falls, Erebos Harbor, News

Region Closures

Erebos Harbor and Ash Falls will be closing on the following dates;

Erebos Harbor: 24th December
Ash Falls 1&2: 25th December

It hasn’t been an easy decision for us to make, but with us spending little to no time over the last 6 months in SL due to RL changes, the current rental market in SL not really being viable due to real world financial issues and the flood of LL homes over the last 12 months, we have decided to take a hiatus from SL.

Rental boxes will no longer accept payments, but we invite our tenants to stay until the last should they wish to do so. Any rentals that exceed the remaining time on the regions will be issued a refund of any excess time.

Due to the fact that the regions are rented and not owned by us, they cannot be sold or transferred.

Client support for regions landscaped by us will continue indefinitely.

We would both like to personally thank everyone who has stayed with us over the years.

Leaf and Julz.

Kultivate’s 2020 Spring Art Show

We were invited to take a small gallery space at Kultivate’s 5th Annual Spring Art Show this week! The show ran from 24th April to 1st May on a Paris themed region build by Kultivate owner and editor, John (johannes.huntsman), and featured photography and sculpture from a variety of artists from across the grid alongside live performances culminating in an awards party under the eiffel tower.

Kultivate Magazine is a long running publication focussed on culture and the arts in Second Life. Through their permanent gallery spaces and seasonal events, they promote virtual art, culture, photography, music, and fashion. If you’d like to know more about what the team behind Kultivate are up to, check them out here.

Sea Breeze

We were recently commissioned by Keely Mistwood to create a unique, lush green, coastal environment on a private Homestead. After a couple of chats about here home and how she wished it would be we had a little brief and a lot of freedom! Make sure to check out our HD video of how this commission turned out by clicking the image above. 💕

It’s been a while…

Last year we produced seven regions in ten months with little time off. By the end of October we already knew we needed to allow ourselves time and space to recharge, but it was technical issues which ultimately forced our break. With time away from SecondLife we were able to reflect on an amazing year, full of incredible highs that ultimately overshadowed some very difficult lows.

Ocean View

This last week has been an interesting for the whale watching community everywhere. On the morning of 25th September a Beluga Whale was spotted in the Thames Estuary just outside of London and the country has been somewhat gripped by his plight. There’s been concern for his well being ranging from monitoring his swimming patterns to ensure he doesn’t end up too distressed and to ensure that well-meaning people hoping to catch a glimpse of him don’t venture on to the water to further stress him as he navigates the unfamiliar environment.
